Dear friends and family,

It is with a thankful heart that I am writing this note to you.  I am thankful to be with my family this Thanksgiving day.  I was a little worried about that last week as I was trying to leave Bolivia.  Many discontented Bolivians were striking and protesting a variety of political issues.  They even shut down the airport the day I was supposed to travel.  Nevertheless, I was able to get back to WV by weekend, just in time for my grandson's birthday party.

I am also thankful for the wonderful ministry that the Lord has allowed us to be involved in amongst the Simba people.  Some very exciting things are happening and the Lord is illuminating darkened hearts with the good news about Jesus Christ.

I want to mention a little Russell family news for which I am thankful:  Joshua has landed a very good part time job at WSAZ TV in Charleston.  He is currently a cameraman filming the 6 PM and 11PM news.  He really likes the work and it complements well his area of study at State University.

The big news is that our  daughter, Emily,  is to be married Saturday, November 24th.  The wedding will be at 3 PM at Victory Baptist Church in Cross Lanes, WV.  My son-in-law-to-be, Robbie Gillespie, is already a part of the family.  Suzie and I are very happy and thankful for what the Lord is doing in their lives.

We also want you to know that our hearts are just full of thankfulness toward those of you who have stood by us faithfully in prayer and financial support.  The Lord has used you to  enable us to be a part of reaching people with the gospel  - people that  otherwise may have never heard.   So let us say it one more time: Thank you for being a part of our ministry!

 Happy Thanksgiving
